The latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. All tips for future New Music picks welcome below.

The Head & The Heart

Melancholic folk tunes with a gorgeous glow from a Seattle five-piece whose self-titled debut album is already attracting attention far beyond the Pacific Northwest. One of the acts we reckon people will be raving about after SXSW 2011.

Trophy Wife

Another act from the incredibly fertile Oxford scene, Trophy Wife’s debut single “Microlite” (due for release on Moshi Moshi) is a thing of great fizzing, ethereal beauty. Currently on tour with Foals.

B.O.Y.

This Banbridge trio have already demonstrated a wicked ability to make raw, thrilling, sure-footed visceral noisy tunes. Plenty of live shows already in the bag, along with a four-track EP “The Football Season Is Over”.
