Wow that will be good. Disappointed by animal collective in dublin last year so hoping that could put the issue to bed

Jim spotted this courtesy of the Guardian. The Knife have composed an opera based on Darwins “On the Origin of the Species”. Still waiting for the free download but sounds like an interesting project.

is Vicar Street not an odd choice (in terms of size)? Is Panda Bear that popular?

Chalkie – well, Animal Collective did the Tripod so….

Noise – dunno. Hope so! When I interviewed Noah last year, he had this to say on that subject:

“I started a new Panda Bear record but I felt the couple of songs I’d done weren’t quite there yet. I don’t think they were different enough from the other stuff I was doing and I need to change my ideas and how I work a little. It will be some time before it comes out because of my Animal Collective commitments but I’d like do a few songs here and there as singles.”

He was talking about new material with Pitchfork recently – “raw, simple, electronic, voice heavy”:

There’s a hit-or-miss aspect with these kind of sampler-heavy performances I feel (Animal Collective were great in the contentious rescheduled Whelans gig and so-so in Tripod a few months later) but I’d be interested in seeing him for sure if he’s likely to be previewing new songs.
