Legendary folk singer Liam Clancy died yesterday evening after a long illness. “Back in the Days”. I have always loved the story that while the rest of the “artistic” world were outraged that Bob Dylan should go electric, the articulate wing of the Irish national inferiority complex were outraged that he should express his love and admiration for the music of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.
