Sponger is definitely right about Julie Feeney - it’s on her My Space page.

Pretty sure Richmond Fontaine have already been officially announced. Major Lazer must be playing, i’ve read so many internet rumours that they are and the internet never lies, does it?

Doubt Alela Diane is playin as she’s doin Crawdaddy in a couple of weeks.

As Lenny’s rather wittily hinted, a lot of your traditionally EPish sort of bands are playing the horrid, teen puke fest that is poxegen instead.

Am not goin to list who i’d hope will appear as hopes will be cruelly dashed i’d imagine!

Yeah, on the day of the first annoucement I was commenting on nialler9.com and wrongly took a hint from Niall to mean ALL my favourite bands were playing, when in fact none of them were.

Regardless of the fact that lots of names I’d hoped to see at EP are at Oxegen instead, I’m quite excitied about going to a festival where there’s loads and loads of bands I don’t know particularly well to check out. Loads of potentially exciting discoveries to make. Anyway, at the risk of being crushed, I’d love to see one or two of Animal Collective, Dan Deacon, Final Fantasy or Doves on the list.

Final Fantasy playing Belfast on August 4th, I’m not sure he’d be doing that and EP.

I’d crawl over hot coals for AC and/or Sunset Rubdown (whos new album is a thing of beauty).

Sunset Rubdown playing Belfast on September 11th and Crawdaddy the next night so again, I doubt it.

Is there anyone else who’s fervent hopes and dreams I can dash for them before I have to do an end of year warehouse stock take after lunch?

I knew of thon Sunset Rubdown gig in Belfast but was hoping for a slot at EP too, a man can dream can’t he?

Whats the chances of a little crossover with Oxegen now that Festival Republic own a portion of the pie?

Ian - I wouldn’t rule out those bands because they’re playing gigs here around the same time (aren’t Okkervil River playing EP and then Roisin the Monday after?), but maybe I’m wrong.

Re Bon Iver, I seem to remember most of the press around his Galway Arts Fest stating it was the only Irish gig he’d be playing this year.

Of course there’s always a chance (and personally I’d be very happy if there was a Bell Orchestre gig announced separate from EP) but the Okkervil River gig is, as you pointed out the day after EP finishes compared to weeks in and around the festival and neither FF or SR are scheduled to be in Europe at EP time, Pallett’s last gig on the tour is August 16th and Sunset Rubdown’s tour doesn’t start till September 9th.

Also I suspect the Okk Riv gig in Galway is partly only happening because gugai knows them and has been trying to land them for a gig there for years.
