You need tea leaves to make a proper pot of tea.

Fresh space-age soul music is what Flying Lotus produces when he goes into the studio. Of course, you could say that some of this is down to Steven Ellison’s family connections to the Coltrane dynasty, but he’s never made much play from it so we won’t either.

His “1983″ album, which came out last year on Plug Research, is awash with much bubbling loveliness and I reckon it was this wash of ambient tips and taps alligned to beautifully freaky beats which got his new label Warp interested in him

This is taken from his soon-come mini-album “Reset” and features singer Andreya Triana. Sit back and enjoy.
