  • What is Apple planning for iTunes?

    If you’ve visited Apple’s website today, you can’t have missed the massive tease that Apple is currently running on its homepage.

    The speculation is that there is some announcement due on streaming or cloud services for iTunes, although the smart money is on a Beatles related announcement tomorrow, a glaring omission from the iTunes catalogue at the moment.

    It could have all been so great. A new internet service that allowed you to pick and choose which songs you want to listen to and discover new ones, all at your own leisure, from your own laptop. Spotify has taken off, quickly becoming an internet darling.

  • Apple Event gets underway

    Get ready for the new announcements, folks. The Apple event has kicked off and already we have iTunes 9, and updated iPhone software. Hopefully it will address the poor battery life on the iPhone.

    iPods now come with cameras too, apparently.

    UPDATE In bullet points to keep it simple.

    The iPod Nano:

    •  New video camera, mic and speaker built in
    • 2.2 inch display
    • built-in FM radio (at last!!) with live pause and iTunes Tagging
    • built-in pedometer
    • available in 8gb and 16gb

    iPod Touch:

    • Now available in 64GB for $399
    • 3.1 software
    • supports Genius Mixes

    Irish pricing will be updated as soon as I get it.
