Google is already offering search, advertising, mobile phone operating systems, email services, translation services… and if it gets its way, it will soon be on your TV.
Remember back in 2007 when O2 trialled its broadcast TV service? It was only a pilot scheme, and it was only available in Dublin, as far as I can recall.
The phones were also a bit unwieldy, but then they had to be if you weren’t going to go blind from squinting at them while trying to watch Home & Away on the bus on your way home every evening. It was entertaining.

But if someone hands me a list (and a handy step by step guide on how to actually get to them) I won’t say no. It might take me several weeks to work my way around to it though. I’m lazy like that.
Call me a cynic, but when I see another company boasting of its “eco friendly” products, I can’t help but smile.
Environmentally friendly technology is a growing business these days. With consumers seeking to cut bills and politicians pushing the carbon emissions agenda, everyone wants in.
