The digital challenge begins!

In today’s media industry, you can’t stand still for too long, or you risk getting left behind. We could all benefit from a bit of innovation, and who better to bring that to the Irish Times than entrepreneurs?
In recent months, the Irish Times put out a call for start-ups that could work with us in new ways. Five were shortlisted and have already begun their eight-week “getting to know you” period, where everyone figures out if we can all work together in mutually beneficial ways. The companies that made it to this stage: Knockon.ie, GetBulb, Picturk, MyiFli and Storyflow.
It’s all very exciting stuff.
But at the heart of things, we’re a media company. So with that in mind, we’re documenting every step of the way. Each week, we’re posting a video update on how everything is going, how the start-ups are getting on and what they think of the whole process.
This is week one’s offering.
