Xbox owner? Have a Kinect? Well then. Dust off your copy of Kinect Sports, crack out the running shoes and take part in a record-breaking attempt that could also benefit charity along the way.
Microsoft is trying to break the record for the most people in an online race (I’m sure it’s not the most unusual record attempt out there). So tomorrow at 6pm, log in to Xbox Live and take part in the 100 metre dash on Kinect Sports. For every person who takes part, Microsoft will donate funds to Right to Play, a charity that helps children in more than 20 countries to build essential life skills through playing sports and games.
It’ll be a bit of a laugh, we’ll all look a bit ridiculous (going by previous attempts at Kinect Sports anyway) but it’s all in a good cause.
Those who do will be in good company. Microsoft has signed up the Kaiser Chiefs to take part in its Xbox Summer Stadium sports and entertainment campaign which kicks off today and runs until August 12th. That includes the 100m dash tomorrow.
With this in mind, for the weekend Xbox Live’s Gold subscription service is free to access for everyone.
