Lion tops 1 million downloads in a day

If you’re a Mac user, you undoubtedly know what Lion is. The latest operating system update from Apple adds more than 250 new features to the Mac – but lets face it, most of us will only use a fraction of that. The rest will be unused, but it will be nice to know we can access them at any time.

The most useful? Multitouch gestures, a redesigned Mail app (although I’ll reserve judgment on how much it has improved for a few days),Mission Control, which allows you to see everything running on your Mac, and Launchpad for your apps.

Apple is pretty confident Lion, which you can download from the Mac App store for €23.99, is the best OS that it has made.

According to Apple, Lion has already topped a million downloads, and it’s only been available for a day. Mine is currently installing – it takes about half an hour on each machine, or so I’m told. I’ll give my verdict in a few days time.
