Tech Tools: Sony Xperia Mini Pro

The trend recently has been for large screens and touch capable phones. Sony Ericsson has bucked at least part of this trend with the diminutive Xperia mini handsets.

Check out the size of it. Seriously.

But don’t be fooled by the small size.  The android phones may be compact but they pack a lot of features. It’s got pretty much everything you need, including a music player, internet access and an email programme. Anything else you want or need can be downloaded from the Android Market. This in itself is quite limited at the moment, as there are only free apps in there at the moment, but there are enough to boost the functionality of your mobile phone.

The screen is quite small, and, although very responsive, it can take a bit of getting used to, even for those with smaller fingers.

With this in mind, the Pro version has added a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. This is a bit of a lifesaver – for the phone anyway. It makes it far easier to send messages and browse the internet, rather than relying solely on the touchscreen.
