Sony postpones GT5 launch
Those of you looking forward to getting your hands on Gran Turismo 5 may be slightly disappointed to learn that Sony has postponed the launch in the Japan.
The title, which was due to go on sale there in March, has not yet been rescheduled. There was no date pencilled in for a European (or US) release, but those who were banking on a quick worldwide launch can probably guess they won’t be playing it in a matter of weeks.
It ‘s not exactly clear why Sony is delaying the launch – ‘production issues’ covers a multitude – but it has already been in the pipeline for more than four years. It was announced at E3 in 2006, and the demo was released back in December on the PlayStation Network.
Incidentally, GT5 was used at CES to show how Sony thinks 3D could enhance gaming, with a demo of the game on new 3D screens.
Sony isn’t the only one to delay games releases though; Capcom annoucned late last year that it was postponing major releases such as Lost Planet 2 and Super Street Fighter IV until April.
