    iPhone on Vodafone gets closer…

    Ciara O'Brien

Officially, the iPhone won’t be available on Vodafone until Spring 2010. But some people who registered their interest in the iPhone may have started to receive phone calls from the mobile network offering them the chance to upgrade sooner than expected.

There’s been mention of an independent, third party agent in the transaction, and some indication of the tariffs (€35 and €45 if the rumours are true).

Vodafone Ireland confirmed to me today that customers won’t be able to get the iPhone in Vodafone owned or accredited stores until early next year. However, it has begun ringing customers who are due an upgrade to tell them where they can get the device, and connect to the network.

So if you registered to hear more about the iPhone from Vodafone, and you’re due an upgrade, you might get a call soon…
