    iPhone vs Droid

    Ciara O'Brien

There has been lots of talk about potential iPhone ‘killers’ but none have been quite as blatant about it as Motorola’s new Droid. The teaser ads for the phone point out what the iPhone won’t do – but the Droid will.

Check out the video on Verizon’s homepage (via engadget)

isn’t that one of those bloody phones that has a keyboard that flips out?

Kinda irrelevant considering no Irish provider (Vodafone, O2, Meteor, etc) will supply you with a contract for an HTC Hero or other Android device…

    • Ciara says:

Actually, Vodafone Ireland has announced it’s bringing out the HTC Tattoo, which is an Android phone.

Besides, even if they didn’t offer it, there’s nothing to stop people buying an unlocked one and putting in the network settings themselves. There are Android phones being used on Irish networks, it’s just that up until Vodafone’s announcement, you wouldn’t have got it subsidised.

thats good news. i dislike the unlocked approach (for most consumers and market share its a no-go anyway), and the associated problems with apps stores, updates etc. http://savina.net/blog/?p=84

Just so ppl understand what they are getting themselves into Apple has an amazing track record of not crashing like PCs also this is a thinner version of the SideKick. Apple comes with an application, albiet expensive, that allows you to sync with your computer from your iPhone to iPod touch if there is another computer system that wants to take that on then i will be impressed.
