We don’t even have the Palm Pre here just yet (although it is coming soon) and already Palm has announced a brand new handset – the Palm Pixi.

The newest Palm handset uses the company’s webOS. Palm has dumped Wifi for this model, but kept Bluetooth, GPS and most importantly, 8GB of memory. The 2.6-inch screen is multi-touch, but it’s still got a full QWERTY keyboard, plus “gesture area” for navigation gestures.

Smaller, lighter, and most importantly cheaper than the Palm Pre, when – or if – we will see the Pixi in the Irish market is anyone’s guess.
