Storm has a few hiccups
So I got my hands on the Blackberry Storm last week.
It looks good, the clickable touchscreen intrigues me. Very impressed by the 8gb memory card included with it. I spend at least 10 minutes of every day turning it around to watch the screen rotate itself (yes I am that sad).
It takes a while to get used to sending texts, etc on it. Half the time it was like trying to type in mittens. There may have been swearing. Lots of it. There were several threats to throw it out the window.
There were even several moments of Storm-inspired hilarity – most notably when it autocorrected the acronym “BBM” to “bum” leading to me to send an instant message to someone explaining that I was just showing someone “how bum worked”. Nice.
But disaster. It started Saturday with the Storm’s refusal to charge. After about three hours, it finally did. Then I made the fatal mistake of switching it off (it being a Saturday and all), and since then I haven’t been able to get it to switch on.
I’m off to check the Blackberry forums to see if there is a fix. Google tells me I’m not the only one to have this issue.
UPDATE: Google is god. All powerful, all knowing, and able to fix my Storm issues. I have a fully functional Storm again.
