Public relations, Ryanair style
You have to love Ryanair, if only for the sheer neck of the company. When Jason Roe found a bug in Ryanair’s site, he blogged about it. Enter the commenters.
I thought everyone knew at this stage that your IP address can be tracked when you do most things online. Clearly that hasn’t filtered through to some people, because Jason was able to trace a few choice comments back to Ryanair staff.
Ryanair has actually admitted it too. Its statement:
“Ryanair can confirm that a Ryanair staff member did engage in a blog discussion. It is Ryanair policy not to waste time and energy corresponding with idiot bloggers and Ryanair can confirm that it won’t be happening again. Lunatic bloggers can have the blog sphere all to themselves as our people are far too busy driving down the cost of air travel.”
How to make friends and influence people. So “lunatics”, the blog world is safe from Ryanair.
Bet you’ll all sleep easier tonight knowing that.
