Sony sells 50m PSPs
The PlayStation Portable never really grabbed me (I’m more of a DS kind of girl) but clearly someone is buying it. According to Sony, they’ve now sold 50 million units.
Actually, no, that’s not quite what they said. The exact line in the press release was:
“Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) today announced that the cumulative worldwide sell-in units of PSP (PlayStation Portable) handheld entertainment system (PSP-1000, 2000 and 3000 series) reached a total of 50 million units as of January 2009.”
I’m assuming what they meant was “Yay. Look at us. We sold 50 million PSPs worldwide.” Unfortunately, halfway through the first sentence, the will to live did slip away a little. So the rest of the press release had no chance.
Another one pleading for simple press releases with no irritating marketing language, please. Simple, straightforward, to the point. Thanks.
