As Future Taoiseach said these are more truthful then they were! Now I don’t approve of this sort of carry on but it does show what kind of things Coir are willing to argue against.
At the end of it all were a tiny island, who’s going to help us if not Europe, the British? The Americans? I think they have their own problems..

I think this article is very misleading. It should be made perfectly clear that these posters are NOT REAL. They are posters that have been photoshopped by members of the Creative Ireland Forum at http://www.creativeireland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27670

Point to vote ‘yes’ is that Irish political system, called ‘democracy’, proved its impotency since creation. Per decades here were only powerty and hopeless in Ireland. Until magician Ahern made a
fantastic economo-polytical trick: created Ireland as a global off-
shore zone. Irish get rich without working and almost all new generation things that thinks are like should be - a happy life without a work. As result Irish have education of third-world still,
far to be perfect health care. State keeps busy itself on tourism and
immigration mockery. “Make Ireland your own home!” - ha ha ha! The
biggest mock ever been for idiots like me who believed in such kind of
nonsense, while Ireland never were user friendly even for locals. To
change a political system to more effective is necessary to make
‘yes’, despite how bitter it will be.

I´m from Germany and I beg you to voto no. A lot of people all over Europe have hope in you that you defend democracy and souveranity.
EU Commissioner Charly McCreevy said on 26. Juni 2009 to the Irish Times, that if there had been referendums in all European countries the Lisbon treaty would have been rejected in 95% of these countries.

It is unfair to have a go at James Pelow. He is clearly genuinely concerned that these ads could be mistaken for genuine Coir ads.
The style is so similar to the original Coir product that one can see where James is coming from. I think the Irish Times in future should clearly identify which statements and ads are genuinely from Coir and which are spoofs, as it is very easy for the ordinary member of the public to confuse them.

    Hi
I am a “bleeding foreigner”, which in this case means a fellow European/world citizen under EU rule. From Sweden. As you may know, A very large portion of people under EU rule want to stop the Lisbon treaty. It is outdated and incapable of being a politica base for handling the great questions of the future. We all want to have a say, but only you are allowed to. So in fact, you are voting for us. The EU leaders seem to agree that the treaty would not survive a referendum in all EU-countries. So you are voting for us , bleeding foreigners or not. Please stop it. vote NO.

    A German song for you:

“We know that nine out of 10 people will not have read the Constitution and will vote on the basis of what politicians and journalists say. More than that, if the answer is No, the vote will probably have to be done again, because it absolutely has to be Yes.”

when you talk about us “foreigners” in the debate”, are you aware of that most of the people in EU countries want to have a say and are critical? You are actuallu voting for us. Please stop it.

I don’t think it’s that easy for people to confuse them… I don’t think ordinary people would look at, say, the “95% of Europeans are bleedin foreigners” image and take it seriously! I absolutely love it, it cracked me up!!!

    @Andrius:
Instead of insulting Ireland/Irish people left right and centre you should seriously work on your English. Also it
seems you have learned very little about the Irish people. They fought for their souveignity for generations, and now they are asked to hand it over, thank you.

A chara, if I could I would vote no to Lisbon, I certainly would because it’s a step in the wrong direction. France and Holland voted against it too,by the way, and instead of making changes to the treaty (more involvement on the level of national parliaments, ie.) people’s voices were just ignored.
Germany’s Constitutional Court also ordered that changes be made to the Treaty because it was partly in conflict with our constitution.
Needless to say, the EU commission and council seem to consider constitutions as tiresome remnants from the past that have to be circumvented in some way or the other.
I am half Irish and half German and therefore naturally a great supporter of the European idea. However, I want a Europe of the people, not one of faceless institutions, so-called political and financial elites (the ones who have steered us into the current crisis, by the way). They could have made some REAL changes to this treaty - and they didn’t. Just goes to show what European (unelected) leaders think about the people of Europe.
It’s your vote, use it - you have one! I guess you will vote yes because you are scared of the future, and I understand that completely. But please give it a thought - is your heart in this?

PS These images are just stupid - trying to work against the no-campaign, showing them in a false light as freaks, members of the ultra-right or religious fanatics. Also, the accusations against Ganley are pretty gormless, I think, just intended to discredit Libertas. Hedgefonds would be an unlikely party to be against the “uninhibited flow of capital”, one of the important issues of the Lisbon Treaty. Goodbye, Pittsburgh?

@Andrius, before you start insulting Ireland and the Irish left right and center, you should put in some more work yourself - into your English. Plus you could do some research on the experience Ireland has had as part of the British Empire. Giving up soveignity is not an idea that appeals to anyone, especially if you have had a first-hand experience of it.

In my view, the images on this page are not only daft but actually misleading.
An attempt to blacken the no-campaign.
Surely the UKIP are eejits, but being against the Lisbon Treaty has nothing to do with being against Europe.

A caidre: Being half German half Irish I myself am a very strong supporter of the European idea. But this treaty is bad. It takes away highly relevant competence areas of the national governments and partly is in confilct with the constitutions of several states.
The (unelected) European leaders seem to think that constitutions and referendums (Netherlands, France, Ireland First Round) are something to merely circumvent, remnants from the past. The new EU will be governed by the so-called elite of politicians and capitalists - the people, by the way who have played a vital part in steering us into the current crisis.
One question: upon finding out how unpopular the Lisbon Treaty is among Europeans, why wasn’t it changed?
why wasn’t the treaty worked out in the European Parliament, the only half-way democratic institution of the EU?

Another question: people are drawing comparisons with America - United States of Europe. but there is one vital difference between the American constitution and the LT. The American Constituion starts with: WE, the PEOPLE of United States. Now compare that with the Lisbon Treaty. You will see what I mean.

You will make your decision. Your previous resistance already made a difference insofar that suddenly people are interested in the entire process of EU legislation; a thing that this Europe of the elites has long tried to prevent.

Thank you so much for that.
