What about her eyes!
The season is over and I am now on my holidays!!! Five weeks off, the Ospreys have given me, which is the longest I have ever had. It has been an amazing season for me personally. Twelve months ago I wouldn’t have dreamed of playing in a Lions test match, never mind all three and one at centre.
To have won the Grand Slam and enjoyed a good season with the Ospreys, I am looking forward to chilling out and actually being able to take in all that has happened.
The match was very tough on Saturday, but despite having lost the series we were delighted to get a win on South African soil. As we did a lap of the pitch after the game, it was absolutely amazing to see the number of supporters who have paid a fortune to make it over here. For us to finally get that elusive win hopefully put smiles on their faces.
Since the game, however, it has been a bit of a blur and has reminded me a little bit of the few days after the Grand Slam win. Luckily there will be no stages to go up on and no microphone thrust into my hand - so no embarrassing myself.
Having said that, in my slightly tipsy state at the moment I could nearly belt out a verse of Black Velvet Band, only the one verse, though, as I still don’t know the words.
We fly home this evening, getting back to London early tomorrow morning. It has been a long seven weeks since we were at home, so some of the guys with wives and children are very excited about getting back and are out running through shops frantically buying presents.
Seven weeks seems a very long time, well for us to be on tour it does, but the time has really flown by. I have met some great characters and people I will look forward to bumping into in years to come.
I’m not really sure how to sign off but would like to thank whoever the mad eejits are that actually read this! I’m not sure if it has been very insightful but have really enjoyed logging on and reading some of the comments you have left.
It’s been good fun and a great tour for me, I will put it all together when I’m home and it will be a nice way for me to remember some of the fun I have had over here.
Anyway, what about her eyes!
PS A last plea, our video analyst on the Lions team’s wife is trying to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. A lot of the players have already helped out and if anyone reading this would like to help feel free to click the link below.

Tommy congratulations on the win on Saturday - ye played with great spirit and courage and represented the Irish (and British) with the greatest of sportsmanship. Although ye may have lost the series ( an unjustified a loss really) it was still a brilliant tour and I thoroughly enjoyed following it. You Irish boys did us really proud - congratulations and enjoy the well earned break!!
