  • English ad slip-up was icing on the cake

    March 22, 2011 @ 5:27 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

What a difference a game makes! Couldn’t be happier with how things finished up. It was made even sweeter when Nike let it slip about the videos, t-shirts and ads ready to go when, as they put it: “England won.” (more…)

  • Here’s to another day in the sun

    March 18, 2011 @ 4:39 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

The combination of this fine weather along with the thought of playing against England at home tomorrow is making the majority of us in the squad very giddy. These are the games, if you were like me as a youngster pretending to be Simon Geoghegan, that you dreamed of playing in. (more…)

  • Defeat a bitter pill to swallow

    March 14, 2011 @ 1:13 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

What a hard one to take. After a really good week’s training and so much good work done on and off the pitch the result at the weekend left some of the players seriously deflated. The squad as a whole felt really good going into the game, yet afterwards, lads were left scratching their heads. The dinner and night after the game was somewhat subdued. (more…)

  • Here’s to more mayhem at stately second home

    March 11, 2011 @ 8:10 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

Man, this place brings back some memories! Seeing the sight of grown men cry, meeting my mates in the crowd, running around the pitch like a lunatic… and so much more! This amazing stadium feels like a second home. (more…)

  • Jay-Z starting to attract cult following

    March 8, 2011 @ 10:37 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

Another test week and, even after 33 caps, I still get as nervous as ever when the team sheet is read out. So  I’m delighted to be getting the nod again and can’t wait to get out there in Cardiff. Who knows, I might even make it over the line for another try. What are the odds now? (more…)

  • Water Boy happy to have Handsome on board

    March 4, 2011 @ 4:57 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

It’s another nice weekend off, after a hard week of training, of course. (more…)

  • After a mixed weekend, it’s time for Plan B

    February 28, 2011 @ 5:19 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

Well, what an interesting few days. For most people a weekend trip to Edinburgh is a relaxing, enjoyable break away. For us it was a decidedly mixed bag. (more…)

  • A piece of cake for the ladies’ favourite

    February 24, 2011 @ 7:56 pm | by Jamie Heaslip

After a break in the middle of the campaign, it’s always good to go back into camp and see some familiar faces. This week we had the addition of the ladies’ favourite, Mr Tommy Bowe. It’s great to see him back in the mix, especially after his lay-off with injury. (more…)

  • Pizza and burgers, what a pro!

    February 22, 2011 @ 9:32 am | by Jamie Heaslip

Another week and hopefully another game. One thing we’ve all learned is that you never know what Deccie (Declan Kidney) is going to do with team selection, although it’s always good to see familiar faces when we get back into camp after a weekend off. (more…)

  • No place like home…but I’m still such a pothole!

    February 18, 2011 @ 11:02 am | by Jamie Heaslip

Writing this from the comfort of my bed – something that most guys in the squad cherish and look forward to during the Six Nations. Hotel life is not what people think. While the places we stay are amazing and all the staff in the hotels equally so (along with the food…) nothing is a substitute for home and this week the squad have spent most of it at home, besides the two day camp. A timely break and a chance for the lads to refresh the body and mind after a tough two weeks. (more…)
