About the Awards
“Innovation is achieved in an organisational setting be it private, semi-state or the public service and The Irish Times and InterTradeIreland are absolutely right to acknowledge the people who drive innovation in their organisations. In a constantly evolving world and today’s challenging economic climate, leadership through innovation, creativity and change management are no longer optional, but essential.”
President Michael D. Higgins
Innovation is critically important to the island. However, as the basis of our social and economic rejuvenation, successful innovation will require a capability which goes beyond the generation of ideas. The ability to nurture new ideas and make them work will truly determine our future success as a progressive social entity and a competitive world class economy.
Innovation is driven by people and The Irish Times and InterTradeIreland want to acknowledge the people who drive innovation in their organisations. We do so by inviting indigenous and international organisations, small, medium or large, who are operating throughout the island of Ireland, to promote service, product or operational innovation to enter the fourth annual Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards, which will be held in Titanic Belfast, March 2013.
Winners in each category will be chosen by an independent panel of judges from a shortlist of 3 finalists. Special recognition will be given to the company with the best North/South collaboration project. In addition, an overall ‘Innovation of the Year’ winner will be drawn from the category winners.
