The closing date for nominations for the Presidential Distinguished Servie Award for the Irish Abroad is approaching on May 2nd.

The awards recognise the service given to Ireland or Irish communities overseas by people who live outside the country for their work in Irish community support; arts, culture and sport; charitable works; business and education; and peace, reconciliation and development.

The nomination form, more information and a list of previous winners can be found on the Department of Foreign Affairs website. Forms must be submitted to the Irish embassy where the nominee is resident by May 2nd.

Today is the closing date for submissions to the DFA’s public consultation as part of the Government’s review of its engagement with the Irish abroad.
