‘Generation Emigration’ moving to Weekend Review

‘Placing Gen Em coverage in our flagship Saturday paper reflects the centrality of emigration to Irish life’

Searching the newspaper today for the Generation Emigration article, to no avail? Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten to print it… it’s moving to a Saturday slot in Weekend Review from this week on.

Features editor Conor Goodman says:

“Placing Generation Emigration coverage in our flagship Saturday paper reflects the centrality of emigration to Irish life in recent years. Through our weekly reports and daily blog since 2011, The Irish Times has tried to reflect the experiences of Irish people as they make new lives in other countries, as well as bringing emigrants news of the country they’ve left behind.

“But the trends are ever-changing. The expat Irish population is now maturing, putting down roots abroad and developing closer ties with the countries they have moved to. The Saturday articles will reflect this.”
