Did you travel back to Ireland this year to spend Christmas with friends and family here? If so, we want to know what you’ve been enjoying most, and what your impressions of the country have been.

Have things changed much since your last visit home? Was this Christmas different to last? How did it compare to those you had while you still lived here? How did you feel about leaving again?

Let us know in the comments section below, or send us an email to emigration@irishtimes.com with ‘Home for Christmas’ in the subject line.

UPDATE: Alison Healy was in Dublin Airport, speaking to emigrants as they said their goodbyes and returned abroad after the Christmas break, while Brian O’Bryan made a video: Emotions high at Dublin Airport as emigrants fly out
