Moving2Canada, an Irish-run online resource for jobseekers migrating to Canada, has intoduced a new Montreal section with advice on finding accommodation, job hunting, networking and socialising in the city.

“While many emigrants choose to move either to Toronto or for employment in the thriving natural resources sector in Western Canada, Montreal, with flourishing IT and software sectors and a cosmopolitan lifestyle, has also become a more popular destination in recent years,” says Moving2Canada founder Ruairi Spillane.

“Montreal has a deep-rooted relationship with Ireland and the Irish people, with many past emigrants having assimilated into French Canadian culture.”

The website already has information on Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray and Toronto. Moving2Canada also offers a recruitment service on behalf of a selection of Canadian construction companies and engineering consultancies.

The Montreal content has been collated by Irish journalist Hugo O’Doherty, who has been living in the city since 2011.
