Do you celebrate our national day and use it as an opportunity to promote Ireland, or are you indifferent to it? Share your plans with us.

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said St Patrick’s Day is an opportunity to “cast the country in a good light” while announcing travel plans for cabinet ministers to promote Ireland abroad this St Patrick’s Day. Do you agree? As a member of the Irish diaspora, do you celebrate the day or use it as an opportunity to promote Ireland, or are you indifferent to it?

Whether you are organising a full-on street parade or attending a shindig in an Irish bar, we want to know what your plans are for this St Patrick’s weekend. Post the details as a comment below to share with followers of Generation Emigration around the world. You can also send us your pics to or Tweet us @GenEmigration.
