Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said St Patrick’s Day is an opportunity to “cast the country in a good light” while announcing travel plans for cabinet ministers to promote Ireland abroad this St Patrick’s Day. Do you agree? As a member of the Irish diaspora, do you celebrate the day or use it as an opportunity to promote Ireland, or are you indifferent to it?

Whether you are organising a full-on street parade or attending a shindig in an Irish bar, we want to know what your plans are for this St Patrick’s weekend. Post the details as a comment below to share with followers of Generation Emigration around the world. You can also send us your pics to emigration@irishtimes.com or Tweet us @GenEmigration.
