Home News is a new five-part series on RTÉ Radio 1 in which journalist and broadcaster Brian O’Connell travels the world looking at how Irish newspapers outside the Republic are trying to keep Irish communities connected.

Over the past year, Brian has visited Australia, the US, UK and Northern Ireland to find out how new and past emigrants are consuming Irish news and staying in touch with home, and to ask editors and journalists from Irish publications about their work.

The series begins at 7.30pm next Saturday, November 24th with a programme on the Irish News in Belfast. It will be followed by episodes on the Irish Post in London (December 1st), the Irish Voice in New York (December 8th), the Irish Echo in Sydney (December 15th), and World Irish, The Irish Times, the Irish Emigrant and online (December 22nd).
