What would you like to share with President Higgins about being young and Irish?

President Michael D Higgins will be interviewed by Carl O’Brien later this week  about his Being Young and Irish seminar, due to take place in the autumn. The interview will appear in the Generation Emigration slot in The Irish Times on Friday 24th August.

The aim of Being Young and Irish is to “engage young people (aged 17–26) as active and reflective citizens in contemporary Ireland and to endorse them as one of the sources of wisdom in solving core social, political, economic and cultural issues confronting Ireland.” In advance of the seminar the President is encouraging young people to share their visions for Ireland on his website.

Carl O’Brien is inviting Generation Emigration readers at home and abroad to submit questions for the President which could be asked during the interview. If you have a suggestion, or any thoughts to share on youth emigration, unemployment, or any other aspect of being young and Irish, please submit them in the comments section below.
