With emigration once again a fact of life in rural communities, the rituals and traditions associated with leaving home are being revived. Journalist Brian O’Connell and photographer Eamon Ward recently attended an “American Wake” in Co Clare, for an article printed in yesterday’s Irish Times Magazine.
