As the name suggests, LiveTrad.com usually streams live traditional music from locations around Ireland to Irish people and traditional music lovers all over the world. Thy have also webcast live from festivals like Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Temple Bar TradFest and the Frankie Kennedy Winter School.

“It is an opportunity for trad lovers worldwide to watch and listen to a quality traditional performance, and also for them to get in touch with each other through the instant messaging service on the LiveTrad Wall,” says Micheál Ó Domhnaill, one of the site’s curators.

More than 7500 individual computers from 38 countries tuned in last month to watch Altan’s live webcast from Dublin.
