Donegal were installed as hot favourites ahead of their 2012 All Ireland clash with Mayo. The northerners scored 2-1 in the first 11 minutes, although Mayo rallied and came to within three points of Donegal by half time. Despite Mayo’s best efforts, however, Donegal held out to claim the Sam for only the second time in their history.

Galway (2-13) and Kilkenny (0-19) played out an epic draw at Croke Park in the senior hurling final. The result means the two teams meet again on Sunday, September 30th.
