For Sceilig and Bermuda
http://www.irishtimes.com/blogs/gallery/files/2013/01/screenscene630.jpgSceilig and Bermuda, a documentary telling the story of seabirds which took refuge on these islands, was produced by New Yorker Deirdre Brennan. The film was inspired by the cahow, one of the rarest seabirds in existence, and the work to save the species in Bermuda. The film also tells the story of similar birds on Sceilig Island, which were studied by Irish ornithologist Oscar Merne for decades. Photographed are Oscar Merne, Maura Kinney (Deirdre Brennan’s sister, who spoke at this 2005 screening of the film at Screen Scene on Dublin's Upper Mount Street), and de Buitléar, who directed the film.
