  • Diane Kruger at Cannes

    May 17, 2012 @ 11:30 am | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

Smart move, Cannes people, for putting Diane Kruger on the jury and guaranteeing us all some serious fashion perving for the duration of the film festival. My only question is … where is Pacey?

Also, I wish I was there. Lucky Donald.

  • Kristen Stewart’s magazine covers – Elle vs Elle

    May 16, 2012 @ 7:30 am | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

Check out Kristen Stewart’s latest magazine cover, on the eve of the release of Snow White and the Huntsman, on Elle magazine. I think Kristen looks gorgeous, far better than her appearance on last month’s Elle (UK) magazine.

Which is your favourite? Or are you not a Kristen fan? (Did you catch her on Graham Norton? I know she was slightly awkward but I think she’s adorable!)

  • NSFL: Tom Cruise covers W magazine

    May 14, 2012 @ 3:30 pm | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

Tom Cruise appears in his Rock of Ages persona, nausea-inducing gun tattoo in tow, on the cover of next month’s W magazine. NSFL, by the way, is an acronym that stands for: not suitable for life. (In other words: my eyes, my eyes!)

Oh wow, I take it back! That trailer makes it look like a lot of fun!

  • Mischa Barton for Twelv magazine

@ 10:30 am | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

You may feel as if Mischa Barton has been quiet lately, but the former OC star has been busy touting her handbag line (available in Ireland in Arnotts) in Dubai – where her designs have, it is reported, gone down extremely well – and announcing plans for a fashion line in the not-so-distant future.

I’ve always enjoyed Mischa’s slightly boho fashion aesthetic, although it has had its serious hiccups (well documented by the Fug Girls), and I’m eager to see what her fashion line will bring – because I do really like her handbag line. In fact, I did a segment on Xposé a couple of months back talking about them, and though Lisa Cannon wasn’t that enamoured with the fact that they’re not made of leather, I have high hopes for future collections – and these Twelv covers (via Fashion Copious) are seriously fuelling my enthusiasm. What do you think? Are you pro or against Mischa? And does anyone else really miss the OC?

  • Chloe Green launches her new shoe line for Topshop

    May 11, 2012 @ 10:30 am | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

There are times I really wish I lived in London – when Wimbledon is on, for example, or during the summer when everyone in Big Brother is sunbathing outside, or when Chloe Green holds a press launch for her hotly anticipated line of green-soled shoes for Topshop. I’ve been keeping an eye out for Green’s footwear since I saw a preview on the Telegraph, and these pics from Topshop’s blog have done nothing to sate my appetite for Green’s shoes, despite her horrific turn in my favourite TV show, Made in Chelsea.

Don’t her shoes look really great? I think sneering at celebrity lines, at this stage, is so 2000 – Victoria Beckham has taught us all an important lesson – so I don’t much care that these shoes were designed by an heiress who was, let’s face it, only ever going to do something within the Topshop family.

  • Aoife Valentine’s what’s hot, what’s not

@ 10:27 am | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

    Hot

    Julia Restoin Roitfield

With every celebrity and their mother having done the Demi Moore naked-and-heavily-pregnant magazine cover shoot, Julia Restoin Roitfield’s efforts are somewhat refreshing, and incredibly beautiful.

    Luxury Telephone Boxes

BT Artbox, an art project marking the 25th anniversary of Childline, has enlisted the likes of Giles Deacon, Zandra Rhodes, Lily Cole, Philip Treacy and Julien MacDonald to give the classic red telephone box a makeover. So cute.

    Leather Forever

Hermes has just opened its ‘Leather Forever’ exhibition in London celebrating the brand’s history, with enough variations of the infamous Birkin bag on show to keep even the largest of crowds happy. There’s also a giant neon Kelly bag full of bags – what more do you want?

    Not

    Mary Kate Olsen’s Face

The Olsen twins haven’t been baby-faced and innocent for a while now, but Mary-Kate’s old-lady face at the MET Gala was terrifying. She’s 25 and she looks like death. What has she been doing to her face?

    Rihanna’s Armani Collection

There’s been some excitement about Rihanna creating another collection for Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani Underwear, but from the sketches, unless you’re very into how she dresses herself, it’s quite disappointing.

    Vidal Sassoon’s death

Beginning a career that lasted more than 50 years by giving Mia Farrow a pixie crop, Vidal Sassoon’s hairdressing was defined by his innovation and desire to liberate women. The news this week of his death, at the age of 84, was exceptionally sad.

  • Isabel Lucas in Proenza Schouler making knee-high boots and bare legs look good

@ 7:30 am | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

So yeah, I bet nobody saw this coming. Her choice of knee-high boots for the Met Gala was definitely unexpected, but with her beachy hair and that gorgeous Proenza Schouler dress, I think Isabel Lucas really knocked it out of the park. Pic via Le Fashion

  • Carey Mulligan’s Met Gala dress is on eBay

    May 10, 2012 @ 6:07 pm | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

Carey Mulligan is putting her custom-made Prada halterneck dress, worn to Monday’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum, on eBay in aid of Oxfam America. It’s described as custom-made, previously worn (duh!) and between a size 38-40 which, in Italian sizes, makes it a UK 6 (although, crucially, if we’re talking French sizes, it could be a 10-12, which may be more likely).

Bidding for the gown currently stands at $1,025 with nine days left to go. It’ll be interesting to see how much this dress nabs for Oxfam!

Whatever about the dress, I’d kill for that hair. Gorgeous.

  • Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy – collective awwwww, anyone?

@ 5:21 pm | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

I mean, seriously. Who doesn’t love those faces?

  • Met Gala 2012 – welcome back, Beyoncé!

    May 9, 2012 @ 3:30 pm | by Rosemary Mac Cabe

Welcome back, B! We’ve missed you.

Also, way to work the train, B. This is what I call a pregnancy comeback.
