H&M Conscious Collection – in store this Thursday

H&M’s S/S 2013 Conscious Collection of sustainable garments drops in Irish stores this week

Last time H&M launched a Conscious Collection, it was a big hit – but something we didn’t get to see much of as the items didn’t launch in Irish stores. This time around, the Vanessa Paradis-fronted collection will be available in all H&M stores that stock ladieswear, meaning you can get your mitts on it all over the country. And what can you expect?

Beautiful cotton and silk pieces in very natural, neutral colours in womenswear, childrenswear and menswear – as seen modelled by Johnny Depp’s ex, Vanessa Paradis.

Along with the Conscious Collection is Conscious Exclusive, a range of incredible party dresses that will launch in the South King St store only on April 4th – and I can guarantee I won’t be the only one high-tailing it into H&M to stock up on a few dresses for this summer’s thousands of weddings.

Particular favourites? The salmon-pink sheath (above right) that will look incredible on those of you with lean, boyish or otherwise un-bumpy figures; the gorgeous soft cream mullet dress (below right) that shouldn’t work but somehow does; and of course that standout strapless eggshell-blue dress (standalone, above) that is the mainstay of the collection.

So what do you think? Are you impressed with H&M’s moves into sustainability? I have to say they’re better than a lot of other high-street shops’ lacklustre attempts, with one rail of “eco cotton” T-shirts.
