MAC’s Archie’s Girls collection – available at the Loop at Dublin Airport for 15% less than downtown prices

If you haven’t heard of Archie’s Girls, it’s possibly because you were born on the wrong side of the Irish Sea – over UK-side, this comic series was hugely popular, running from 1950 to 1987 and focusing on the red-headed Archie and best friends (and enemies!) Veronica and Betty, rivals for his heart. (I have to say, I’m totally on board with this – I love me a redhead!)

Well MAC has brought the comic strip back to life in a limited-edition Archie’s Girls collection, which focuses on the differences between the two girls: innocent blonde-next-door, Betty, or glamorous rich girl, Veronica. The collection – which features some seriously cute and kitsch packaging – was reviewed over on Beaut.ie, but I’ve just got a blast from the Loop at Dublin Airport reminding me that you can buy these bits at 15 per cent off downtown prices when you fly out.

Would you be tempted to invest? The lipsticks, usually €19.50, are €16.50, while the “Flatter Me” powder is €23.50 (€28.50 usually). Are you a big airport shopper? I’ve had to curb my enthusiasm in a big way, but given free reign I’d load my handbag up with everything!
