Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not brilliant on menswear. Yeah, I know, I go to the shows – heck, I even loved Hackett – but when it comes to menswear there’s not all that much to think about. Either it’s tailoring or it’s super casual (or it’s insane), and there are few men who don’t look good in a well fitted suit.

So this post is, I will admit it, an excuse to talk about how much I fancy Damian Lewis. I’m not even going to pretend this is about how good he is in Homeland (he’s really very good), or how great he was in Band of Brothers (I hear he was great; I’ve never seen it), or how cool and sound he seems in interviews (he does). No: this is just about how, when he comes on screen during a particularly tense / teary / tense-and-teary moment in Homeland, all I can think is: phwoar.

So I don’t much care that he won the Golden Globe this week – all that matters to me is that he showed up looking spiffy in head to toe Burberry, appeared to be very happy with his lovely wife and posed for photographs bowing to his gong. In short: phwoar.
