The new Miu Miu ad campaign has landed, shot by Inez and Vinoodh and starring (deep breath) Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Malgosia Bela, Bette Franke, Arizona Muse and Tamara Weijenberg, a lot of whom you’ll know from walking for Victoria’s Secret. I made no secret of the fact that I was a big fan of Chloe Sevigny’s 2012 Miu Miu ad, but this set has got me absolutely mesmerised – there’s something so beautiful and painterly about the shots that reminds me of a Vermeer. These are such seemingly simple scenes of almost rural domestic life, hints of which lie in the landscape outside the door, above, or in the simple table dressing below, but then juxtaposed with the high glamour of the models and the clean lines of their clothing.

The fact that it’s an ad campaign aside, I would hang these photographs in my home - I love the framing of the scenes, the muted palette and, of course, the clothes and accessories themselves don’t hurt. (I have a terrible fear that we’ll wake up in six months and all be wearing pointy-toed kitten heels – THE HORROR!)

There are more of these ads than I can fit in one blog post, so you can hop on over to the Fash Mob Facebook page to see the full set. And yes, I am posting on a weekend. I feel sorry for the dearth of posts this week and want to keep you entertained while you brave the weekend before Christmas, whether you’re shopping, eating, drinking - or all three!
