Excuse the in-the-mirror selfies. I long to be one of these bloggers who has all the time in the world to wander around picturesque streets and have their talented boyfriends take their photographs, but in reality: I’m always running late, my boyfriend refuses to rearrange his schedule around my dressing-up opportunities, and really, I’m not all that photogenic in any case.

Despite the fact that my clothes fill approximately three wardrobes (a mere two months ago it was seven wardrobes, more on which later), I can never think of something to wear. And fancy occasions leave me stumped! So when the folks at The Outnet offered to lend me a dress, you can be sure I was going to say yes! This number by Lanvin was an equally easy call. I love navy, I love the draping and I love the length – it’s young and cool, but also dressy and not too “look at me”.

I paired it with a heap of vintage jewellery, a pair of wedges from Office and a wishbone necklace by Marc by Marc Jacobs. That taupe clutch bag you spy on the sink is by Diane von Furstenberg.

My make-up (which, granted, you can’t really see) is a combo of the YSL Touche Éclat foundation I adore, Benefit’s She’s So Jetset shadows and Brow Zings, Clinique lippie and Bobbi Brown bronzer, with a slick of Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint for good measure. My hair is all mah own, as they say.

Look! It’s Christmas!
