This S/S 2013 fashion week season was the season street style began to eat itself; I saw so many photographs of women in Kenzo sweaters, women in Burberry, women wearing impossibly high heels and running across cobbles / the Tuileries gardens / New York streets that I found myself yearning for some good old-fashioned catwalk shots. We always want what we can’t have.

In any case, I did like two – two, total - shots I saw on NYMag‘s coverage of fashion-week street style. Is it a coincidence that both photographs show women in some state of weather-related disarray? Maybe it’s down to being Irish, but I do love a gal who can look good while battling the elements.

It doesn’t hurt, of course, to have a killer accessory or two in the mix – that fedora is making me yearn for a hat (and I really am fundamentally against decorative headgear), and Anna dello Russo’s turquoise touches really make her outfit. I can’t help but wonder if her umbrella-holding minion had just been fired though. On that note: did anyone head into H&M this morning for some ADR magic? I was considering it, but then I remembered I’m saving up to be able to pay my rent, so I didn’t.
