A couple of weeks ago I was checking out Fearne Cotton’s range for Littlewoods Ireland, and while I was weirdly drawn to this retro dress, I was even more drawn to Fearne’s picture-perfect make-up! So I asked make-up artist extraordinaire, Sarah Lanagan, to do up a wee how-to.
To get a really smooth, even base like Fearne’s, Estée Lauder Double Wear Light foundation is hard to beat whether applied using a brush or fingertips – if you’ve got combination or oily skin, try teaming it with the Estée Lauder Mattifying Primer to give longer lasting, shine free results throughout the day. Alternatively, sensitive or dry skin types can prep skin using Laura Mercier Primer which is aloe vera based so will keep skin feeling hydrated and comforted.
The overall colour palette used for Fearne’s makeup is quite tonal, incorporating warm, peachy shades that compliment her blonde hair and pale complexion – by using a multi-use product such as the creamy, easy to blend NARS Multiples (Orgasm or Portofino will work before for recreating this look) you can sort out cheeks, lips and eyes in one fell swoop.
To give added depth and definition to eyes, line them with either a liquid liner or alternatively the new Maybelline Master Smoky Pencil which can be blended into lashes for a softer result. Finish off the look with lashings of thickening mascara such as the new Origins Ginzing Brightening which suits even sensitive eyes, gives loads of volume and length and lasts brilliantly throughout the day and night, with no smudging.
