Have you ever tried bikram yoga? I did two months of it last year, at Init Yoga in Ringsend. Three days a week, I got up at 5.30am (yes, really) and sweated my head off for 90 minutes in 30-degree heat while I did stretches I never thought possible. I both loved and hated it. I loved the feeling of, firstly, smugness I got from all of this early-morning exercise – but I also loved how strong and supple my body felt. But, ultimately, I felt as if bikram was too expensive and 5.30am was just too damn early to be getting up to exercise at. I sometimes miss it.

In any case, bikram yoga would have been made slightly more palatable if I’d had suitable bikram yoga-wear – which is why Disneyrollergirl’s post on Work Out Life piqued my interest. This new brand does exactly what it says on the tin; it provides designs suitable for work, for working out and, more generally, for life – ranging from cosy and cool sweatpants that I am, bizarrely, itching to get my hands on, to this genius (not to mention really slick) hot yoga sweat suit, modelled by Britain’s Next Top Model‘s Imogen Leaver.

I could definitely imagine wearing this to bikram – but I could also imagine wearing it with a pair of high-waisted jeans, or a flared skirt on a night out. Am I going mad? (Granted, going to the toilet could be troublesome, and I would advise thorough washing in between bikram / night-out wears.)

Have you tried bikram? (I feel as if the world is divided into two camps: those who have tried, and love, bikram, and those who haven’t tried it.)
