When you think about it, Victoria Beckham as guest editor of Glamour is pretty much a perfect match. She’s in high fashion, but in a lot of ways she herself is not high fashion; she knows what she’s talking about but she’s also relatable as being, let’s face it, a regular girl done good; editor Cindi Leive told WWD that Beckham was the perfect choice because she’s stylish and knows about fashion.

Now, the front cover image is apparently part of a new strategy by Leive that accompanies a redesign of the magazine and is, she says, aimed at targeting a non-magazine-buying customer who doesn’t want anything fake or phoney. What do you think? Would this pic of Posh blowing bubbles with a tiara on her head sell Glamour to you?

The September issue is the biggest in most magazines’ year, so Glamour must be pretty confident of Posh’s pulling power. I am really interested, however, to see what Victoria herself has to say about the experience, and to see what she brought to the table; according to Leive, she got really involved, moreso than most celebrity editors do. Oh – and remember that time I met Victoria Beckham? Read all about it!
