What I bought: it’s going to be a cold, cold Christmas . . .

So, last week I moved house – again, making it 11 times that I’ve moved all of my earthly belongings from one home to another – and myself, my boyfriend and our gorgeous dog, Coileán (above; say hi!) now live in a really nice house with seven, count ‘em, seven, wardrobes. The long and short of this is, however, that buying clothes is pretty low down on our newfound agenda. High up on our newfound agenda, on the other hand, are: buying cutlery, buying cleaning products, buying bedsheets, buying garlic crushers and pizza slicers and all of the other gadgets that you kind of forget you really need.
So really, I’ve been good – the above purchases weren’t even impulse purchases (my favourite kinds) but purchases I carefully thought about. I’ve been needing a new pair of blue skinnies for a while, and these River Island babies were only €50. The pic here is of the low-waisted pair, but mine are pretty high rise I just couldn’t find them on the website. And the tee, also from River Island, is a great transitional piece, as they say. I’m wearing it now with jeans, but in autumn I’m planning on layering it over a denim shirt for kicks. The amazing orchid-print jeans are from M&S, and cut from the same cloth as my beloved five-pocket jeggings. €22 over on MarksandSpencer.ie.
So far I have resisted: the two Asos bags from this morning; a pair of Nike Frees I designed on NikeID (the most amazing thing ever; mine are turquoise and neon yellow and magenta, all in one dream shoe!); that Topshop Unique pencil skirt; a super-long, super-bright scarf on Asos; a gorgeous leather A-line skirt, also on Asos; this gorgeous handmade triangle print clutch from Bouhou on Etsy; 3.1 Philip Lim’s Pashli satchel on My-Wardrobe.com; and this amazing Missoni dress, which I love although I doubt I would ever wear, also on My-Wardrobe.
Are you impressed with my restraint? Or do you find my newly discovered self-control boring? (Also, if you are planning on buying me a Christmas present, you could do worse than take a look at that list . . . cough, cough.)
