It’s official! Chloe Sevigny is the new face of Miu Miu. For the Italian brand’s A/W 2012 collection, it’s employed the artistic vision of Mert & Marcus, along with Sevigny, the indie “it” girl of, eh, forever. If this feels like old news, it could be because these pics emerged last week and I didn’t post about them until now.
Then again! It could be because this isn’t Sevigny’s first go at it with Miu Miu; she starred in the brand’s S/S ad campaign of 1996, a whole 16 years ago. And, let’s be honest, she didn’t look all that different:
These shots were by Juergen Teller, and are distinctly less stylised than the latest ones, but there is a certain joy to her swivel chair and the minimalism of the get-up. And Sevigny brings the same devil-may-care David Bowie esque androgyny each time.
What do you think? Is 16 years long enough of a break for Sevigny to come back and feel fresh? Or are you simply not a fan? Have at it in the comments!
Oh, and big news! Each week, one lucky Fash Mob commenter will be chosen to receive a small goody bag of beauty odds ‘n’ ends that turn up in Fash Mob HQ. And if that’s not an incentive to comment, well, I don’t know what is!
