I mean that in a really loving way – after all, I am Irish, and I’ll admit to having been slightly affected by last week’s massacre at the hands of the Spanish football team (although I didn’t watch it; I just read about it the next day).
But there are some typically Irish fashion faux pas (in my mind, anyway) that get my goat – so I was wondering, what’s your least favourite Irish fashion trend?
A couple of examples that drive me to distraction would be: fake tan with too-light foundation (I know, fake tan is an oldy and we’re not getting rid of it, but girls, match your face to your body! That’s fake tan 101, surely!); knee-high leather boots with bare legs and denim mini skirts (this may be a worldwide phenomenon but I’ve never seen anyone in Paris “rocking” this look. Fact.); and debs dresses (I don’t mean at your debs – that is fine! I mean rocking up to every event in a “debs” dress – weddings, awards shows, you name it, our celebrities have a debs dress to suit).
So what are your top Irish fashion no-nos?
