What I wore: Saturday-night house party, plus FOTD

That stands for “face of the day”, for those of you not beauty-blog inclined. On Saturday night I went to a friend’s house for a house party and I opted to debut my Marni for H&M top, blagged about two days after the launch as someone else had just returned it! I don’t know why I haven’t worn it before; it’s cute and pretty, and has a black ribbon tie at the back. It’s a great top for something like a house party where you’ll be sitting down a lot because it’s quite loose around the middle (I know, plenty to be worrying about).
I paired it with my trusty MiH jeans, which you may recognise from their weekly outing in my column, in the Marrakesh kick flare, which I love. They’re super long so they can only be worn with really high wedges (no pic I’m afraid – you couldn’t see them anyway!). Then I opted for a chunky vintage necklace, a DVF bum bag (or, better, fanny pack), with a necklace as the strap instead of the long utility belt it came with, and a beige waterfall sleeveless blazer from Topshop.
My attitude to jewellery is that more is more, so you can see that, on my left hand, I’m wearing my YSL Arty ring (which I totally want in this colour now), my Michael Kors watch, a brown leather and gold single strand bracelet from Warehouse and a bracelet from Topshop that matches the rest on my right hand. From top in the pic above: Topshop, Marc by Marc Jacobs, vintage from Rhinestones in Dublin, Topshop, Links of London, unknown and Topshop! As for the FOTD . . .
I’m wearing Dermablend foundation, Bobbi Brown bronzer, Cargo blush, Benefit’s Brow Zings and, from the Urban Decay Naked palette, naked, buck, half baked and smog, with Benefit’s Bad Gal liner, Chanel Inimitable mascara and Soap & Glory Supercat liner on my upper lid.
Did you do anything fun on Saturday night? What did you wear? Do you have a set “uniform” you opt for when going to house parties? Tell me! (In other words, please, leave a comment!)
