This year I’ve been coming a cropper (if I do say so myself) with posts on fashion events – remember the Golden Globes? And the Oscars? Well, I’m a day late with your Met Ball updates – but that’s because I spent yesterday in the company of the lovely Anna from Louis Vuitton, working on a really exciting upcoming project that I can’t wait to share with you!

In any case, here are my serious hits from this year’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum, when all of fashion’s finest folk come out to play. Carey Mulligan looked gorgeous in Prada (above) – and so happy! Other hits?

Jessica Alba won’t be winning awards for originality, but her metallic Michael Kors gown is gorgeous.

Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe – innnnnteresting! Not to mention gorgeous, although I do have serious questions about that turban.

Now I know, I know, Donatella Versace is not always on my best-dressed list, but I think, when all’s said and done, Donatella looks great. Her waist looks tiny, her body looks great, her fringe is really holding its own and her face is … well. I think she looks fab. Top marks!

Dianna Agron is stunning in this Carolina Herrera dress, although, like young Jessica Alba before her, not the most original. Still gorgeous.

What do you think? Am I missing anyone? (If I am, I blame a lack of available photographs – Nina Dobrev also got my vote, and, unlike almost everyone else, I quite liked Leighton Meester in Marchesa!)
