So it begins. I have this dream where, by the end of this month, I have got my boyfriend really interested in photography and, you know, hanging around with me 24/7 and I have amazing photographs like every single other blogger on the planet. For now I have to make do with dodgy photographs in my mirror and other dodgy photographs taken by iPhone in the splendid grounds of IMMA (not that you’d notice).
I know, the detail you can pick out is incredible. Well! I am wearing a blue floral printed dress by Penneys, black Acne-esque boots by SixtySeven at Buffalo, a black cardigan from Bershka, a black knitted vest from H&M, a Michael Kors watch, a just-seen belt from Asos and two pairs of tights from Marks & Spencer (because, sometimes, one just ain’t enough!). If you’re not bored to tears of looking at me by now, after the jump I have a bonus face of the day and another not-very-clear-either photograph of me in the great outdoors.
So here’s my face – and it only took two shots to get it this posed. I think I’m really getting used to my good side by now. I started off with Dermablend foundation, which I have handily reviewed for you in the past, over just-moisturised skin (I feel like that helps it not go too “cakey”). I always apply my foundation with my fingers – I know I should use a brush but I can never bring myself to bother and my fingers seem to do the job just as well. I then went mad with a bit of Bobbi Brown bronzer in Golden Light 1 on my temples, tip of my nose, forehead and just beneath my cheekbones, and Nars blush in Orgasm on the apples of my cheeks. I always do my brows, with Benefit’s Brow Zings in Dark – even if I’m not doing any make-up now, I’ll do my brows. I feel like they help you cross that line between bed-face and, um, totally unremarkable alive-face. I then used Avon’s Supershock Max mascara in black. This is pretty much my basic make-up routine – yesterday I added Benefit Benetint on my lips, topped with some lipglass from MAC I got last week.
Here’s another – feel free to admire my curvy calves. Oh, and point of note: the exhibition Conversations: Photographs from the Bank of America Collection is really quite good, and short, too, which I appreciate in an exhibition. Although I did have some queries about the quality of sub editing on their information posters. The exhibition runs until May 20th.
