The past couple of weeks I’ve been looking out for cues for how I’d like to dress myself this spring / summer – although, let’s face it, with the Irish weather black and white are never too far from one’s daily palette – and this Jill Stuart lookbook on Studded Hearts is the first step. Pastels? Check. Ladylike cinched waists? Cheeeeeck! Just like a delicious, spring-appropriate ice-cream sorbet.

Realistically – because Jill Stuart isn’t, let’s face it, all that realistic for a budget that’s already been blown on those Isabel Marant sneakers (didn’t I say?!) – I’ll be saving up for these gorgeous MiH jeans, firstly. I love the vintage shape on them, and they’d be perfect with loads of things I already own, plus, I do love the brand. (I say, justifying their purchase.)

Next up would be this gorgeous mint green backpack – it reminds me slightly of Alexander Wang and more than that of swimming as a child after school and of writing on backpacks and T-shirts and anything to which a permanent marker would adhere.

Lastly, this necklace would really set off a lot of outfits – I can also imagine layering it under the collar of a denim or sheer shirt and wearing it tucked into a black silk skirt, mixing a bit of ladylike with a bit of Western and a little bit of tough, army-girl chic. Maybe Doc Martens, Ashish-style?

In other news, I booked my flights to February’s London Fashion Week, which means that all I have left to do is send, oh, approximately one million emails to one million PR people to ask, nay, beg, for tickets. So I thought I’d ask you, my loyal readers: what would you like to see reported on at fashion week? I know that Style.com and Vogue.com provide by-the-minute round-ups of the shows, but, when it comes to fashion weeks, what are your favourite aspects of reporting? Do you want interviews? Street style? Behind-the-scenes info? Please, let me know – I’d love to be able to offer something a little bit different this year and, crucially, something people want to read. Besos!
